Jacob is a calm and deeply intentional old-soul, who you will find teaching our Monday night Gentle Essentials class at 5:30pm every other week. Read along to learn more about our newest addition!

Q: Can you share a bit about your journey - What led you to yoga?
A: Well I started going to yin classes and sound baths around 6 years ago with a
friend and fell in love with how it made me feel physically and mentally.
Q: What inspired you to become a yoga teacher?
A: I’ve always been fascinated with psychology, anatomy, spirituality and somatics. It
just made sense for me to pursue yoga teaching since it encompasses all of those
things. Yoga has helped me immensely in my personal healing journey and I just
felt called to share that healing with others.
Q: What kind of classes do you love to teach the most?
A: I love teaching classic Iyengar-style classes with a heavy focus on alignment and body-mind connection principals.
Q: How would you describe your teaching style in 3 words?
A: Intentional, Accessible, Empowering
Q: How do you think the salt therapy environment enhances a yoga practice?
A: It’s a space that’s seemingly completely separate from the rest of the world. The salt in the air allows for a more enlivening and cleansing experience through breath and movement.
Q: How do you like to unwind after a busy day?
A: I love to cook a little something for myself sometimes, read, and meditate while steering clear of screens when I can.
Q: What’s your favorite yoga pose and why?
A: Right now it’s Sirsasana or the headstand. It’s a challenging inversion that I’ve just been getting good at and it’s known as the “king of asanas” for its profound benefits!
Q: What’s you go-to wellness or self-care practice (besides yoga)?
A: Cold-plunging and a hot sauna. Not necessarily in any order 😅
Q: A quote or mantra you live by?
A: “It is through your body that you realize you are a spark of divinity” - B.K.S. Iyengar
Q: If you could teach a class anywhere in the world, where would it be?
A: It would be at the base of Mt. Fuji or in a temple-style setting in Peru!
Q: What advice would you give to someone looking to start a yoga practice?
A: Just keep showing up! Give yourself to the practice and the rest will follow
naturally.
